This is the view of the kichen looking towards the backyard. You can see the large picture window that was removed and the window above the sink that was also taken out in order to put in the new window. 
In this picture I am standing at the door leading to the family room looking back towards the laundry room. You can see the original peninsula counter that divided the kitchen into two parts. That was removed to allow the kitchen table to go in the middle of the kitchen.
