Here in Augusta the grounds are looking nice.

A few weeks ago my husband, Mr. Falling Leaf, called for me to come see something on tv. This is how the conversation went.
Mr Falling Leaf: See that?
Me: Uhm, yeah.
Mr. Falling Leaf: That's how I want our yard to look.
Me: Really? That's pretty nice. (Mr. FL is watching the Masters and he is pointing to the course on tv. In particular he is remarking on the pine straw that is around all the beds on the side of the course.)
Me: So, I guess I should get right on that....
Searching the computer I find that there is NO pine straw to be purchased in Dallas or Ft. Worth.
It has to be ordered from East Texas and shipped in.
The man on the phone explains how easy it is and he will have it to me in a few short days.
Pine straw is heavy and it takes a lot to cover the beds. According to UPS I am the proud owner of 980 pounds of pine straw.

What's even more important is the fact that it will most likely take TWICE that much to cover all our beds here at Falling Leaf Cottage.
20 boxes of pine straw is not enough for our yard.
The pine straw DOES look nice. Here in Ft. Worth no one knows what it is - unless you watch the Masters and you notice the landscaping. So I hope I'm on my way to Yard of the Month - although we don't have that in our neighborhood. That's too bad because I think I could win.
