'Twas the night before Christmas..

Falling Leaf Cottage feels peaceful and quiet right now. It's dark and cold and rainy outside. Inside there's a nice warm fire and many comfy places to sit and rest a while. Christmas music is playing softly in the background. In less than an hour this place will be full of family. So for right now I am just enjoying the moments that have made this Christmas special so far.
We have received so many beautiful cards from friends and family. Everyday for the last few weeks we have enjoyed the cards that arrived in the mail.
Today the snacks are ready for our first Christmas gathering. This display doesn't look like much right now but in about 30 minutes I will be pulling lots of goodies out of the oven and refrigerator.
Our friend Jim is here to help a little with the eggnog.
The gifts are wrapped and under the tree. I did almost all my shopping this year via the internet. This kept the stress level pretty low. I heard the traffic around the malls was horrendous. Included under the tree is a special something for a special someone that was ordered from Istanbul, Turkey. That gift came a very long way to end up under our tree. I wonder what it could be?
